According to Sky Sports, Manchester United are preparing to enter the market for a new goalkeeper this summer and have been keeping tabs on a number of potential options including Jan Oblak.
The 28 year old Slovenian goalkeeper is regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in Europe.
Since his emergence in Madrid, Oblak has kept a superb 153 clean sheets with 12 coming this season as his side look to claim the La Liga title.
The report claims Manchester United have been tracking Oblak for more than a year and could make a bid for the goalkeeper this summer.
It is believed De Gea is considering moving back to Spain following the birth of his child, where his wife works regularly as a television presenter.
Despite Dean Henderson’s impressive performances in the absence of De Gea, Manchester United have reportedly prioritised signing a goalkeeper this summer.
Oblak has a £103m release clause in his Atletico contract, which has two years left to run.
