Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer might not have won trophies the likes of Jose Mourinho and Jurgen Klopp have won but he has achieved something neither of them have achieved.

According to Opta, among the 67 managers Pep Guardiola has faced more than three times across all competitions as a top-flight boss, Solskjær is the only one to have beaten the Spaniard (4) more often that he has lost to Guardiola (3).

Solskjaer is also the first manager in Manchester United’s history to win each of his first three away meetings in all competitions with Manchester City.

Solskjaer guided Manchester United to a 2-0 victory over Manchester City on Sunday, ending a run of 28 games without defeat for Manchester City.

Manchester City’s 21-game winning run was also ended following Manchester United’s 2-0 victory over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
