Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes is in line to win the PFA Player of the Year award after an outstanding season for Manchester United.

The 26-year-old Portuguese midfielder has already scored 22 times and registered 13 assists in 40 appearances this season.

Manchester United will have to part with some cash if Fernandes is named the PFA Player of the Year winner.

According to The Times, Manchester United will pay Sporting CP about £4.2millon if Bruno Fernandes wins the PFA award.

Manchester United will also make some payments to the Portuguese club if Fernandes finishes in the top three of the Ballon d’Or nominees.

United have already paid two £4.2m instalments to Sporting after two of Fernandes’ add-on clauses were met.

One of them was when the Portugal international made his 25th start for United, while the other came when the Red Devils secured Champions League football last season.
