Manchester United legend, Paul Scholes, has challenged England international, Jack Grealish, to leave Aston Villa.
The midfielder has had a successful season so far with the Villans, and has found himself playing for the Three Lions, after being snubbed initially.
Grealish came close to joining the Red Devils last season, before the club went on to sign Donny van de Beek instead, and Scholes believes he’s a quality player, who now needs to play for a better side than Villa if he truly wants to prove himself.
“Don’t get me wrong, I love the player, but if he was doing this at Man United, Liverpool, City, one of the top clubs, then he’d be up there, he’d possibly be top three,” Scholes told Optus Sports.
“There is no pressure on Villa. If he is at a top club then he needs to win every week. He needs to leave Villa to prove that (he is a top player).
“It is all about him at Aston Villa. He needs to get out now to a club that need to win every week, there is pressure to deliver trophies.
“He is capable of doing it, but there will always be a doubt until you do it.”
Grealish signed a new five year deal with Villa last September, which means it won’t be easy for him to leave them, unless suitors are willing to pay mega money.
