Former Arsenal star, Ian Wright, has praised Jesse Lingard for his work ethic.
Lingard recently sealed a six-month loan move to West Ham, where he’s impressed so far.
And according to Wright, the Manchester United midfielder has done so well for The Hammers because of his strong desire to succeed, as he would otherwise still be struggling like he did in the past.
Speaking on the Wrighty’s House podcast, the pundit said, “What people don’t understand with Jesse Lingard what he’s doing now is the work that’s probably gone into him hitting the ground running like he has at West Ham.
“If you now have work ethic, intensity and drive, and you go on loan and put that work in. That man is working his ass off, because you can’t do what you’re doing now at West Ham if you weren’t working your ass off.
“He put that work in and that’s what we’re seeing now. And honestly, I am so happy for him. Because people kind of underestimate the journey that some players have to go on just to get in the team and just to play football.”
Lingard has scored three goals for West Ham in just four games, while also winning a penalty for them, and there is already talk his move could be made permanent.
