Former Manchester United midfielder, Paul Scholes, has slammed David De Gea for his persistent sloppiness in goal.
The United number one has had some really bad games for the club in recent seasons, and criticisms have continued to be thrown at him.
De Gea’s latest blunder came in the 3-1 win against Newcastle, and Scholes warns the Spaniard’s inconsistency has become a source for concern.
In a recent chat with BT Sport, he said of De Gea: “Manchester United’s clean sheet record is not good enough. I think that is the biggest weakness in this team.
“David De Gea again [against Newcastle on Sunday], so sloppy, it’s becoming a real problem, having the confidence in your goalkeeper, and short corners.
“Man United had one out for two or three corners, this is the one where David again, can you catch that? He punches it into a really bad area.”
Should Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer drop De Gea for Dean Henderson?
