Shola Shoretire sets Manchester United record against Real Sociedad

Shola Shoretire secured a place in Manchester United’s history books after making his Europa League debut on Thursday night.

He became Manchester United’s youngest ever player in Europe following his appearance against Real Sociedad at Old Trafford.

Shoretire came on as a second-half substitute for Mason Greenwood at the age of 17 years and 23 days, replacing Norman Whiteside who had been at the top of the list for 39 years.

Whiteside was 17 years and 131 days when he lined up in Europe for the first time, and he went on to feature in over 200 games across all competitions for the Manchester outfit.
