Marcus Rashford was on target as Manchester United hammered Newcastle 3-1 on Sunday.
The Englishman’s goal, which came just before the break, took him up to 17 strikes across all competitions for United this season.
The goal also put Rashford on 85 goals for United during the course of his young career, and level with the legendary David Beckham.
Reacting to the news in the comments section of Man United’s post on Instagram, Beckham joked about the achievement, as he backed the philanthropist to go on and outscore him soon.
His comment read: “Not sure we will be on the same number for long. Didn’t realise I scored that many!”
Marcus Rashford has been brilliant for Man United all season, and not too long ago, overcame the 83 goal record set by Eric Cantona.
