According to report, Monaco star Benoit Badiashile insists he does not regret turning down a move to Manchester United last summer in favour of staying with the French side.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was interested in signing Badiashile as a centre-back partner for captain Harry Maguire, but a deal for the player could not materialise as the player opted against the move believed to be worth £22m.
“It was the right choice, first off is I have not enjoyed good seasons since I have been at Monaco,” Badiashile told RMC.
“We played to stay up and so now I am really experiencing the top of the table and I think that continuing with the club that formed me was the right decision and this is being proved by the season that we are having.”
Asked if he regrets turning down the chance to move to the Theatre of Dreams, the defender dismissed any suggestion.
“No, not at all,” said the 19-year-old.
Meanwhile, the Red Devils have conceded 32 times in 25 league appearances this term as the decision not to sign a centre-back last summer is proving to be a wrong one.
