According to reports, Manchester United are close to completing a £750,000 deal to sign three teenagers from Derby County.
Report from The Athletic claim the Rams have decided to sell the three academy youngsters to the Red Devils due to their dwindling financial state.
The global pandemic has hit the Championship club hard, with the owner of the club looking for external investment before coronavirus even struck.
The Rams have returned to form under the management of United legend Wayne Rooney, but with the uncertain financial situation, the former United striker admits there have been struggles.
“With the takeover and the salary situation, it’s difficult for players, and it’s difficult for me in that I can’t go into the transfer market at the moment,” said Rooney in January.
“Ideally, the quicker the players get paid, the quicker we can move on.”
