Owen Hargreaves reveals the message Solskjaer sent him about United’s title ambitions

Former Manchester United star, Owen Hargreaves has hailed the ambition and drive for success that is currently running in the team.

Man United are currently second in the Premier League, and look to go all the way with Manchester City, as they aim to win their first EPL title in more than 7 years.

United are also competing for the Europa League and FA Cup this season, and Hargreaves believes it is possible to win one of them with the type of hunger in the team.

The Englishman recalled a conversation he had with Olé Gunnar Solskjaer recently, where the Norwegian insisted it wasn’t enough to be second on the Premier League table, and emphasised the need for more to be done.

Hargreaves said, “I saw him in Cheshire the other day and said to him, ‘Up to second’, and he said, ‘Second, that’s not good enough. You’ve got to win trophies’.

“That’s the mentality. Maybe in the Premier League, they’re not capable of winning that yet this year, but they’ll want to win trophies and I think Ole knows that better than anyone.”
