Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed the club intends to extend the Edinson Cavani’s stay at Old Trafford.
The Uruguayan’s current deal expires in June, but Manchester United have the option to extend his contract for another year.
“I can only say Edinson has done well for us, I’ve been impressed with him and he’s gelled really well with the group,” Ole Gunnar Solksjaer said about Edinson Cavani’s contract situation, as quoted by Sky Sports.
“We’ll sit down with him and speak with him in the near future, of course, to see his plans and our plans. You always speak to your players and with his contract situation, we’re very pleased with what he’s done.”
According to The Telegraph, the Uruguayan is very much focused on staying at Old Trafford and does not wish to speak to other clubs even though he’s allowed to.
So far, Cavani has scored 7 goals and provided 2 assists in 24 games for the Red Devils.
