Olé Gunnar Solskjaer has hailed Manchester United’s perfect start to the Europa League, after a wonderful performance against Real Sociedad on Thursday.

The Red Devils, making a return to the competition for the second season in a row, scored four against the Spanish opponents, to put one leg into the quarter finals.

Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford and Daniel James were among the goal scorers for Man United, who looked a sharper side than the one that drew at West Brom over the weekend.

In his post-match reaction, Solskjaer hailed his team’s mentality, and their ability to stick to his tactics.

He said, “We scored some good goals and played some nice football. We deserved to win but maybe not by four goals. On a night like this when we find spaces we can be a dangerous team.

“We had to defend well, they have some terrific players up front and we earned the right to counter-attack quickly. They opened up and we got the spaces we wanted.”
