Manchester United thumped Real Sociedad 4-0 at the Allianz stadium in Italy on Thursday evening, to make a statement in their first Europa League game of the year.
United took the lead against a hapless Sociedad side in the 24th minute of the first half, thanks to Bruno Fernandes, who scored with his 20th effort of the season.
The Portuguese, then added a second just after the restart to make it 2-0, before goals from Marcus Rashford and Daniel James put a gloss on the scoreline, and pretty much send us into the second leg with a major away goal advantage.
United have indeed put one leg in the next stage of the competition, after a good away scoreline in the round of 32 clash.
