Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reportedly wants the club to beat Liverpool and Bayern Munich to the signing of RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has identified French centre back Upamecano as a possible target as he tries to bolster his defensive options following the injury crisis at Anfield.

Upamecano has a release clause of £38million in his RB Leipzig contract which becomes active in the summer but according to The Sun, Manchester United are considering tabling a bid of £55m to sign him this month.

22 year old Upamecano is rated as one of the best young centre-backs in Europe.
