Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has responded to Liverpool Jurgen Klopp’s criticism of United’s tactics in last weekend’s barren draw at Anfield.
Klopp had criticised Manchester United for parking the bus in the goalless draw at Anfield.
“We attacked every time we got the ball, maybe too much,” Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said of the 0-0 draw with Liverpool at Anfield last weekend.
Speaking in the pre-match press conference ahead of the FA Cup fourth-round tie against Liverpool, Ole added: “We kept giving it away.
“It’s the quality of what we did, we need to do better. We tried to press them high. It’s not easy, they played well, they played their way out of our press.
“We didn’t go out there to drop deep and try to soak up the pressure. We played against a top Liverpool team. Yes, [Virgil] van Dijk is not there but everyone’s got an injury or two here or there. I was very pleased with the performance when I looked at it after.”
Both sides meet again in the FA Cup fourth round tie at Anfield with a place in the fifth round up for grabs.
