Manchester United legend, Roy Keane, has bemoaned the poor performance put in by Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes at Anfield on Sunday.
United played out a goalless draw against Liverpool, but the gained point ensured we remain top of the Premier League.
United were a little bit flat during the first half of the encounter, and much better in the second half, when we came close to snatching it on a number of occasions, and Keane says he thought the performance was fair enough.
The former United star, however criticised the inputs made by Rashford and Fernandes, as he admitted they were below standard on the day.
He said on Sky Sports, “Marcus Rashford, to me, never turned up. Bruno Fernandes didn’t play that well either but Manchester United still created the two best chances in the game.
“As the game went on and became stretched you knew Man United would get those opportunities. You can’t say Liverpool are playing badly but certainly they’ve lost their spark. I wouldn’t be too critical of United.”
Rashford rarely got a good chance at goal throughout the game, as he kept staying offside, while Fernandes simply was a shadow of the man we saw win the Premier League player of the month for December. But in all, they have both been fantastic for Manchester United this season.
