Rio Ferdinand surprised Solskjaer didn’t start these 2 Manchester United players against Liverpool

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has revealed he was surprised Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer didn’t start Edinson Cavani and Eric Bailly against Liverpool on Sunday.

According to Ferdinand, Solskjaer would have been heavily criticised for failing to start both players if Manchester United had lost to Liverpool.

He said: “I was surprised that Cavani didn’t start if I’m honest and then – I was a bit concerned – you see Pogba playing off the right-hand side, no Bailly, who’s been magnificent since he’s come in.

“So you start to think if it doesn’t go well, Ole could be in for a tough time from the people that are going to be critical of him.”
