Former Manchester United star, Roy Keane, and ex- Manchester City defender, Micah Richards went at each other a bit during the goalless draw between Liverpool and Manchester United on Sunday.

With the first half done, Richards didn’t seem pleased with United’s performance at Anfield, and slammed United for being too defensive.

He said on Sky Sports, “I’ve been disappointed with Manchester United if I’m being totally honest. It’s a team that is top of the league, take the game to Liverpool.

“We know Anfield is a difficult place to play, but it doesn’t matter. You cannot win the league playing like that. I’ve talked up Man United especially on the counter-attack, but they can’t win the league playing as negatively as that.”

But Keane had a differing opinion from Richards, and insisted that United’s tactics were spot on, and praised the way the team conducted themselves in the first period.

“I think United have been dangerous,” he said. “I know they’ve been caught offside seven or eight times but I think that’s a good sign. They just need to get one of those passes right.

“I think United will be delighted going into half-time at 0-0. They’ll wanna pass it better and create more. They’re going to the champions with a fantastic home record and United need to just get one of those passes right.”

Manchester United had just a shot at toward goal in the first half, while Liverpool had nine, although none of them ever really threatened David De Gea.
