Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hinted that new arrival Amad Diallo could make the United matchday squad against rivals Liverpool.
The Norwegian is also not ruling out the possibility of the Ivorian making his debut in the coming weeks.
We travel to Anfield to play in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon, before hosting Jurgen Klopp’s side in the FA Cup fourth round a week later.
Solskjaer admits Diallo will need a while to settle before he is ready to make an impact at first-team level.
“Let him have some time,” Solskjaer told Norwegian outlet Dagbladet. “But whether it is against Liverpool in the league, in the FA Cup, this weekend or in a few weeks it is questionable. We have a very fresh squad. There are only one or two that are questionable for the weekend.
“I do not rule out that he is in the squad for the Liverpool match. Things can happen. You see how fast things happen over here in England. Suddenly, a team has six players out with coronavirus. So you do not know. I do not want to put any time on it, but he is at least in the group, trains with us and can be chosen in the squad.”
