Nemanja Matic has hailed Paul Pogba’s brilliance in Manchester United’s crucial 1-0 win against Burnley on Tuesday.
The controversial midfielder was at his best against Sean Dyche’s men, scoring the only goal of the game with a well-timed volley.
Pogba’s influence was evident throughout the game, especially in midfield where he dictated the pace of events.
After the game, Matic was left in awe of the 27 year old’s performance, and noted he’s been a different player over the last few games.
He told Man United’s official website, “Paul [Pogba] in the last couple of games, he [has] showed a maturity.
“He showed exactly the way he needs to play. If he continues to play in this way, he is one of the best midfielders in the world.
“On the pitch, he will show exactly what is his potential and that he can be the leader. Yeah, he needs to use what he has in legs [and] in his head.”
Matic then added: “I don’t want to say too much more about him, I don’t want him to feel too much big [headed]!
“He is fantastic, as I said, he needs to go game by game. The next one [against Liverpool] is the most important.”
