Despite Manchester United’s important win last night, many will feel Harry Maguire has good reason to be sad- and understandably so. The defender thought he had put us ahead of Burnley earlier in the encounter, only for referee, Kevin Friend to rule it out.
It would make anyone feel deflated, especially when you’ve been impeccable all around. But we believe it just wasn’t meant to be, and Maguire should be very proud of himself because we are!
The Man United captain went into the game staring down a suspension, and was only a booking away from missing the trip to Anfield, but he was calm and composed throughout, while ensuring we defended well.
Maguire was no doubt one of United’s best players last night, as proven by the stats at our disposal.
The centre back had a 100% tackles success rate, won 80% of the aerial duels he was involved in and had a 75% pass accuracy.
Maguire also made 6 ball recoveries, drew 3 fouls, made 3 clearances, 1 block, and most importantly, ended with a clean sheet.
Not a bad game for someone who has been under a lot of criticism this season, and we’re very proud of him.
