Scott McTominay has hailed Jesse Lingard’s involvement in the win against Watford last weekend.
Manchester United triumphed 1-0 against the Championship side to progress to the Fourth Round of the FA Cup, and bounce back to winning ways after crashing out of the Carabao Cup to a defeat to Manchester City.
The game was an opportunity for the boss, Olè Gunnar Solskjaer, to give his fringe players some minutes, including Lingard, who hasn’t played for months.
The versatile midfielders was impressive on his return to action, and after the game, McTominay, who captained the team on the night, was full of praise for him.
McTominay said of his teammate , “Jesse was so, so good, he was causing real problems. It is a credit to him. He’s had a tough time Jesse and I am so pleased for him.”
Lingard has only played three games for United this season, and they’ve all come in cup competitions.
