It has been suggested that Manchester United captain Harry Maguire might not play against Burnley on Tuesday to avoid getting himself suspended for the weekend’s game against Liverpool.
Maguire has picked up four bookings in 16 Premier League appearances this season and another yellow card would rule him out of the Red Devils’ trip to Anfield on Sunday, a game which could prove decisive in this season’s enthralling title race.
Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insists Maguire will play against Burnley given victory at Burnley is at the forefront of his mind, rather than this weekend’s game against Liverpool.
“Harry is playing, definitely – that’s for sure,” Solskjaer confirmed ahead of the Turf Moor clash.
“You can only take three points from the game that you are playing in.
“You cannot put your eyes on games beyond this one.”
