Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has shared an advice to Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with regards to how can get Paul Pogba to perform despite the recent controversy surrounding his future at the club.
Pogba’s agent has urged for him to be sold by the club as his United career is over.
But former Gunners boss Wenger believes it’s up to the club to get the best out of his compatriot.
Speaking about Paul Pogba on ESPN FC’s Caught Offside podcast, Arsene Wenger said: “I believe that you have to explain to a player that no matter what his future plan is, his interest and his job is to perform at the present [club].
“It’s the best way to prepare your future, to play well in the present. When I saw him coming on on Tuesday night at RB Leipzig [in the Champions League], I was sorry he didn’t start the game because straight away he made a huge impact.”
The Frenchman’s contract with the Red Devils expires in the summer of 2022.
