Manchester United vs Manchester City: Wes Brown gives his prediction

Former Manchester United defender, Wes Brown, has backed the Red Devils to beat their local rivals, Manchester City this weekend, when they visit Old Trafford.

United go into the game off the back of a 3-2 loss to RB Leipzig in the UEFA Champions League, which saw them drop into the Europa League.

But brown believes the result wouldn’t have an effect on United’s performance against City, and has backed his former side to win the game 2-1.

He said in a recent interview, “Derbies are always going to be tight. Immediately when I think of Manchester Derbies I think of the penalty I gave away at the Etihad which was never a penalty in 2006-07.

“They’re always special occasions and it doesn’t matter who is in form and who isn’t.”

He added, “I reckon both teams will score this weekend. I’m going to go with a 2-1 win for Man United.”

United have come out on top in our last two meetings with City, with both ending 1-0 and 2-0, respectively.
