Solskjaer hints two strikers may be unavailable for Tuesday clash

Manchester United manager Olé Gunnar Solskjaer has hinted that Edinson Cavani and Anthony Martial may be unavailable for Tuesday clash against RB Leipzig, after they picked up injuries against West Ham.

Cavani had started the game, but couldn’t finish, and had to be substituted, after sustaining an injury. Martial also appeared to have suffered a similar fate, and it is now looking rather unlikely both players will be fit for our upcoming UEFA Champions League match.

Speaking on their fitness after the match, the gaffer expressed frustration over the situation, but didn’t say when they’re expected to return.

“It is unfortunate… sometimes you get muscle injuries. We lost Anthony and Edinson,” he said.

“Edi [Cavani] had to come off with an injury, hopefully it’s not too bad. There’s a game already on Tuesday. But It’ll probably be (like this) this season.”

The Norwegian added, “Some games we have to do without players and I’m glad we’ve got the substitutions we have.”

It would be a big blow to not have both players for the team, especially with Cavani being influential in recent games. But hopefully, by Tuesday, we’ll get some positive feedback from the medical team.
