Bruno Fernandes is set to be offered a new and improved contract by Manchester United, as they try to keep a hold of him, amid interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona.

The Portuguese joined United from Sporting Lisbon in January, and has immediately been impactful.

In just 37 matches under Olé Gunnar Solskjaer, Fernandes has scored 22 goals, while providing 14 assists. The return has been incredible, while he’s also been at the thick of the club’s success in recent months.

According to the Mirror, United are set to reward his impact with a contract extension, that will see him earn £200k a week.

The new deal will see him extend his stay at Old Trafford for an extra 12 months, while earning more than his current £100k a week.

Despite being United’s best player by a mile, Fernandes currently earns less than David De Gea (£350k) and Paul Pogba (£300k), and earns the same as Dean Henderson and Jesse Lingard.

But the new contract will improve on it, and hopefully, inspire him to do more.
