Solskjaer reveals why two summer signings are important to the Manchester United team

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has claimed summer signings Alex Telles and Edinson Cavani will give the team the “extra quality” that was missing last season.

The Norwegian is happy to have both players under his watch as they offer qualities needed for tactical changes.

In an interview with ESPN Brazil, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was asked what he likes about Alex Telles and he replied: “Many things. First, a great personality.

“An attitude I love in players. Work hard, never give up. When the game is finished, he’s down on his knees because he’s given everything.

“Which is one of the biggest things. And the quality he has. Great left-foot, good football brain, good passing.”

The United boss was then asked about Edinson Cavani, and he said: “In combination with Edinson, we found those two can give us something different. Because of the crossing from Alex and Edinson’s movement in the box.

“I think they can give us that extra little thing that we missed last season. We felt we had many players with different qualities.

“We have, you know the forwards, Mason Greenwood, [Anthony] Martial, Marcus Rashford.

“Different types of strikers. And the full-backs are different types of full-backs. But the addition of these two has given us another way of playing.”
