Paris Saint-Germain boss Thomas Tuchel has hailed the impact Edinson Cavani has had since his move to Manchester United.

Tuchel is well aware of what Cavani is capable of, having worked with the Uruguayan for a few years before his departure by mutual agreement in March.

Cavani was the inspiration behind United’s perfect comeback win against Southampton on Sunday, after scoring twice and assisting Bruno Fernandes’s goal, and Tuchel is not surprised by the display at all.

“He has a big physical impact, scoring comes very naturally for him,” he said during his pre-match press conference.

“He’s reliable 24/7. You can call him in the night and he’d be there to score and to defend”.

Tuchel added: “I’m happy for him personally that he could show this to all Man United fans in the last game against Southampton, where he was absolutely decisive for them.

“He does not need to show it tomorrow, we already know, so he can do a little pause! It’s not necessary to show us. If he plays, we must find answers for that.”
