Two key Man United players in contention to start against Southampton

The boss, Olé Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that Edinson Cavani and Donny van de Beek are in contention to start for Manchester United when we meet Southampton on Sunday.

The pair were part of the team that beat Istanbul Basaksehir 4-1 earlier this week, where they made some valuable contributions.

And with Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba unlikely to start, van de Beek looks odds-on to start.

When asked if the two could start tomorrow during a recent interview, Solskjaer replied, “We played on Tuesday then we don’t have game until Sunday so it is strange for us, even gave boys one day off! Both available to play.”

Cavani still has just a goal for us since his move to Old Trafford during the summer. It’s little considering his history in front of goal, but we are hopeful he’ll rediscover his touch on Sunday.
