Donny van de Beek may not have played very often since sealing his £40 million move from Ajax, but the one thing he’s done is make the most of the chances he’s gotten, to show why the club spent that much on his services.
The Dutchman was again, very influential for us in the recent win against Istanbul Basaksehir on Tuesday.
Deployed in midfield, van de Beek linked up well with Bruno Fernandes and Fred to create a good synergy with our attack.
In fact, stats from the game have shown that it was one of his best performances since arriving in September.
He completed all of the dribbles he attempted, had an above decent 88% pass accuracy, a total of 77 touches, and to crown it all, created 2 chances.
United won 4-1, and the likes of Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford and Daniel James have stolen the headlines, but players like van de Beek and Edinson Cavani also deserve praise because they played really well.
