Former Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves has backed Donny van de Beek to become a regular starter at the club after his brilliant display against Istanbul Basaksehir.
Van de Beek was given a rare start by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, starting in a deeper role alongside Fred in a 4-2-3-1 system.
Hargreaves believes the Dutchman should be in the starting line-up after his performance against the Turks.
“Van de Beek is so unselfish that he can just fit in,” Hargreaves told BT Sport.
“I think he’s played himself into the starting lineup.”
With Pogba likely to miss our game against Southampton at the weekend, Donny van de Beek could be in for his first Premier League start of the season.
