“The league this season is going to be full of ups and downs” — Solskjaer, on crazy Premier League season

Manchester United manager, Olé Gunnar Solskjaer has said that the Premier League this season will be unpredictable, and full of ups and downs.

United are currently 10th on the league table, and 7 points shy of the leaders, Tottenham, after an important 1-0 victory against West Brom on Saturday, and while the season is still far from over, there have been plenty to suggest we may have a surprise champion next year.

Speaking on the nature of the 2020/21 season after the West Brom win, Solskjaer told the official Man United website, “The league this season is going to be ups and downs and inconsistent, unpredictable.

“We’ve seen some results today as well and the league is not really settling. I read somewhere and Jose [Mourinho] said that one win gets you up there and one defeat puts you close to the bottom.

“So it’s very tight, it’s very early on, and points are more important than performances sometimes.”

United have a game in hand, and could close the gap at the top if they win their next match, which will be against Southampton— a side that has also excelled this season.
