Manchester United number goalkeeper, David De Gea, has opened up on his journey at Old Trafford since his joining the club in 2011.

The Spaniard joined United from Atletico Madrid to serve as replacement for the legendary Edwin van der Sar, and immediately made his mark in the Premier League.

Years have gone by, and we have seen both the best and the worst of the dad-to-be, yet he has maintained he has enjoyed every bit of his time, and he’s looking forward to spending many more years at United.

Speaking to the official Man United website, De Gea said, “The years have gone by.

“There have been good times and bad times but I’m doing well now,

“I’m really content with everything I have and all that I have achieved and I’m looking forward to the future, which will hopefully bring many more years. Being at a club like this and at this level for so many years, isn’t easy so I’m proud of that and bring on some more!”

He added: “I’m truly grateful for all these years that I’ve been here and what can I say? It’s been incredible!

“It’s wonderful to be here and, to be honest, I feel right at home in Manchester.”

De Gea is one of the oldest players remaining at Man United today, and we hope he continues to stay because his presence has no doubt, provided some much-needed leadership in the dressing room.
