The supercomputers at FiveThirtyEight have given yet another rating of Manchester United’s chances of qualifying from their UEFA Champions League group.
The Red Devils made an impressive start in the group, after beating Paris Saint-Germain 2-1 away from home, and RB Leipzig 5-0 at Old Trafford.
However, Olé Gunnar Solskjaer’s men slumped to a 2-1 loss to Turkish side, Istanbul Basaksehir, and the group now seems more open than before.
Following the defeat, FiveThirtyEight now rates United’s chances of qualifying from the group as leaders at 49%, while it rates our chances of finishing second at 31%.
United are also rated 80% to reach the knockout stages, 40% to reach the quarter finals, and just 17% to reach the semis.
United are however not considered a favourite to win the competition, with a 7% rating to reach the finals, and just 3% to win the competition.
