Manchester United skipper Harry Maguire was one of the best players on the pitch when England played against the Republic of Ireland in an international friendly on Thursday.
In the absence of Harry Kane, the centre back was chosen to captain the Three Lions, and he led awesomely.
Maguire was solid at the back, but the defender has also made headlines for his notable contributions upfront.
He scored England’s opener, before Jadon Sancho and Dominic Calvert-Lewin added two more to make it 3-0 in favour of his side, and was a great threat in attack.
According to Squawka, Maguire had four shots at goal during the encounter— which was the most by any player on the pitch during the game.
It’s an incredible performance from a man that’s been involved in lots of controversies this season, and we’re hopeful the good form is more consistent for club and country.
