Manchester United goalkeeper, Dean Henderson, has revealed his delight at finally making his debut for the England national team, after his appearance in Thursday’s 3-0 win over the Republic of Ireland.
The 23 year old was brought in to replace Burnley’s Nick Pope in the second half, and made sure to keep a clean sheet against the opponents.
England did win the match by 3-0, thanks to goals from Harry Maguire, who captained the team, Jadon Sancho and Everton forward, Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
After the encounter, an elated Henderson took to his Twitter to write, “Dream come true to make my England debut!!!”
Congratulations to Henderson, and we hope he gets to play in the Three Lions’ upcoming games against Belgium and Iceland.
