Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek has revealed the last piece of advice he received from Olé Gunnar Solskjaer before the international break.

The Dutchman, who joined United in September has made just four starts since the start of the season, while playing from the bench in a few other matches.

The situation did trigger some concern over his usefulness at Old Trafford, but Solskjaer has reiterated that he will be a key player for his team in the future.

Van de Beek himself re-echoed the Norwegian’s comments, while speaking to the media after the Netherlands’ recent friendly draw against Spain.

According to the 23 year old, Solskjaer has assured him his time will come, and he will do everything he can to ensure he’s ready when it does.

He told NOS: “What does he [Solskjaer] say to me? That I have to be patient, but also that I just have to continue with what I am doing.

“And that he’s seen that I have a good impact when I come into the field. My time is definitely coming. And when those opportunities come, I have to be there”.

Van de Beek scored the equaliser for his side in the encounter, after Spain took the lead initially.
