According to reports, Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon have reached an agreement with Manchester United target Nuno Mendes to increase his release clause with a new contract.
The player has been constantly linked with a move to Old Trafford, but nothing has so far materialised yet.
Report from Portuguese daily claim the club included Mendes in negotiations for Bruno Fernandes as both players share the same agent.
It remains to be seen if the club will still go ahead with a move for the player.
Manchester United chief Ed Woodward has always been criticised for not doing enough to sign the right players for the club, and United have missed out on a couple of transfer targets, including Jadon Sancho.
