Former Manchester United player, Gary Neville, has said that fans of the clubs José Mourinho has coached in his managerial career will be alarmed if the Portuguese went on to win the Premier League title with Tottenham.
Mourinho has managed some of the best sides in Europe and England, including Chelsea and Manchester United, before moving on to Spurs last year.
Last season, the London club didn’t do well, as they finished outside the top four, but so far this season, the reverse appears to have been the case.
Spurs are currently second on the Premier League table; second only to Leicester City, and Neville believes it would be very interesting if they went on to win the league.
Speaking on his recent podcast, the pundit said, “I said a couple weeks ago on Monday Night Football that Spurs couldn’t win the league, and I still don’t think they can.
“But I do agree with Jamie Carragher that it would be the most outstanding story to see Jose Mourinho win the Premier League with Tottenham.
“It would be something that would alarm Chelsea fans, Manchester United fans and Arsenal fans. It would be one of the great stories because Tottenham don’t win leagues!”
Neville also added, “He’s got the forward players to do it. You think of the strike force and the goal – it’s incredible.”
Mourinho hasn’t won an EPL title since he last won it with Chelsea in 2015. It would indeed he interesting if he did it with this Spurs side, but it won’t be something United fans would want to see.
