Maguire heaps praise on Bruno Fernandes

Manchester United defender, Harry Maguire, has expressed delight in the contribution Bruno Fernandes made to the team’s win on Saturday, against Everton.

Fernandes received some criticisms for his poor display against Istanbul Basaksehir last Wednesday, and especially for giving the ball away too often.

But the Portuguese was impressive all around, and notched up an assist to add to his two goals, to help the Red Devils secure a valuable win against the Toffees, and Maguire couldn’t hide his delight after the match.

Speaking to the media on the performance, the United captain said, “I haven’t seen it [the second goal] back, but Bruno was excellent.

“He came under a little bit of stick on Wednesday night but he’s a big character and a big leader.

“He’s reacted brilliantly and does his talking on the pitch. I’m delighted he’s got a couple of goals or whatever you want to call it, a goal or an assist.”

Maguire himself was impressive against Everton, as he barely stepped a foot wrong the whole match, to help us secure the valuable win.
