Harry Maguire was at his imperial best against Everton on Saturday, as he put in one of his strongest shifts yet.
The Manchester United captain has been much maligned this season for being soft in defence, but against the Toffees, he showed why Olé Gunnar Solskjaer chose to play him in every game last season.
Not only was his passing very accurate, Maguire made 7 tackles around the area, and won 4 aerial duels.
The former Leicester man also managed a 100% tackle success rate, with an impressive 86% pass accuracy.
Maguire also made 4 ball recoveries, one interception, and toward the end of the encounter, when Carlo Ancelotti’s men started a late onslaught, he was crucial to ensuring his side left with all three points.
For a player that’s been criticised heavily for not showing up enough this campaign, that performance was a timely response that he’s still got it.
