Ex-Chelsea man, Joe Cole has backed Olé Gunnar Solskjaer’s decision to drop Paul Pogba to the bench in our victory against Everton on Saturday.

The Norwegian chose to play the midfield trio of Bruno Fernandes, Scott McTominay and Fred against the Toffees, in a match that was very important to all.

And the decision paid off, as United won the clash 3-1, after trailing by a goal to Bernard.

When asked to share his thoughts on Solskjaer’s decision, Cole told BT Sport: “What that says to me is Solskjaer knows this is a big game he is thinking ‘what players can I trust?’

“You can’t trust Pogba to sit in that position and do a job for you. With McTominay and Fred they give you limited mistakes, they are more switched on defensively and they seem like two good characters.”

Pogba hasn’t had the best start to the new season, after putting in a few abysmal performances. The Frenchman cost us the match against Arsenal last weekend, as he conceded a penalty.
