Manchester United boss, Olé Gunnar Solskjaer was left disappointed with the type of defending his side put on during their 2-1 loss to Istanbul Bakasehir on Wednesday night.
The Turkish side scored from two counter attacks, but the first goal was particularly worrying and cheap, as Demba Ba was left all alone upfront before he raced to finish in Dean Henderson’s goal.
In his post match reaction, Solskjaer expressed disappointment with the goals, and the way his side defended overall.
He told BT Sport, “The first goal is our short corner and we forget about the man up top, which is unforgivable.
“We weren’t very well organised for the second one as well. We threw everything at it but we couldn’t break them down. These games have given us a reality check. You don’t just turn up and get three points.”
United’s defence has been very poor for most of the season, with 15 goals conceded already across all competitions.
