Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand, couldn’t help but express his disappointment at seeing the Red Devils concede cheap goals against Istanbul Bakasehir on Wednesday.
After their lacklustre performance against Arsenal last weekend, many expected the Red Devils to turn things up against Bakasehir, but instead, more shambolic showing was the outcome.
The Turkish side’s first goal was particularly disappointing to see, as it came from some poor defensive work from United.
Ex Chelsea man, Demba Ba was left alone to himself during a corner, and as soon as the ball came to him, he raced ahead of Nemanja Matic to finish in Dean Henderson’s net.
Many United fans who saw the match were not impressed with the defending, including Ferdinand, who took to his Twitter page to express his disappointment.
The former defender tweeted at some point, “The goals against us…
“Please tell me someone is going nuts in that changing room and people are being made accountable. The shape of the team when we lose the ball for the first goal…”
Well, Solskjaer himself has revealed more needs to be done in terms of the way we defend, and hopefully, things are corrected before we take on Everton this weekend.
