Both Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho were convinced the 20 year old would make the switch to Old Trafford this summer, after bonding while on international duty, according to a new report.
The report has been put together by Fredrik A. Filtvedt, a writer for Norway’s largest newspaper, Dagbladet.
Sancho was Manchester United’s number one target in the summer transfer window, but for reasons believed to be mostly financial, the deal didn’t materialize.
Borussia Dortmund have remained adamant they will not sell their prized asset for less than their valuation, which is somewhere around £108 million.
United are said to still be in on the forward, but chances he will be sold before next summer remain slim, with more clubs said to be in on his services.
