Marcus Rashford has dethroned Kylian Mbappe as the player with the record for the fastest hat-trick in the UEFA Champions League, after his heroics on Wednesday.
The forward came on in the 63rd minute, to replace Mason Greenwood, but despite coming off the bench, he managed to get on the score sheet three times.
Rashford bagged a brace in just four minutes, to give United a three goal lead, before allowing Anthony Martial take a penalty to make it four for the Red Devils in the 92nd minute.
The 22 year old would however, go on to make it five for the Red Devils, as he scored another in stoppage time to compete his hat-trick, and hand Olé Gunnar Solskjaer one of his biggest wins.
But what makes Rashy’s hat-trick special is that it came really fast— in just 27 minutes, which makes it the fastest for any substitute in the history of the competition.
The previous record holder for the fastest substitute hat-trick was Kylian Mbappe, who scored his in 38 minutes.
Also on the list of the fastest Champions League substitute goals are Walter Pandiani (44 minutes), Joseba Llorente (45 minutes) and Uwe Rosler (52 minutes).
