Manchester United forward, Mason Greenwood has dedicated his first Champions League goal to Jeremy Wisten, the former Manchester City defender, who tragically passed away earlier this week.
Greenwood bagged his first goal in the competition, to get the Red Devils on their way to what would turn out to be a 5-0 win over a very dangerous RB Leipzig side.
A Marcus Rashford hat-trick and an Anthony Martial penalty were enough to see Olé Gunnar Solskjaer’s men take all three points, and move to first in Group H, with Paris Saint-Germain and Leipzig now on three points apiece.
To celebrate his goal, Greenwood posted an image of himself celebrating, and wrote, ‘That one was for you bro. RIP Jeremy Wisten.’
Wisten died at 17, after moving to the UK from Malawi, with his family many years ago, with hopes of succeeding professionally as a footballer.
