Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hailed Donny van de Beek for his impressive performance in our 5-0 victory over RB Leipzig.
Solskjaer admitted he was delighted with the midfielder’s work both on and off the ball during the game at Old Trafford.
The Dutchman has found playing time hard to come by since his £35million summer move from Ajax to Old Trafford, and is yet to start in the Premier League.
However, Van de Beek was handed a rare start to impress on Tuesday night and the Dutchman seized his opportunity with an assured display alongside Paul Pogba in the Champions League Group H clash.
Asked about Pogba and Van de Beek’s performances, Solskjaer told BT Sport: “Donny is a fantastic player and a fantastic boy.
“You see the work he puts down both on and off the ball, you see the defensive shape with him, he covers the ground and he’s so clever with his movement.
“So I’m so pleased with both of them.”
Solskjaer added: “This group is coming together.
“Of course we’ve added a few quality players and the more quality you have and spirit you have, the better chance you have of a performance.”
